Our story is one which is rooted in tradition. The year was 1993, and Mr. Ashok Chheda, hailing from the Kutchi community in Mumbai, set out with a word of advice from his mother and a simple vision to guide him. What was the advice? To earn the respect of the community, it was important for him to start up his own business. Coming from a family of traders, Mr. Ashok Chheda knew the ins and outs of trading. So what next? Picture this. Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, had never woken up to the possibility of something other than Potato Chips as a snack. Here is where Mr. Chheda saw his opportunity, and under the name Chheda Wafers, introduced traditional Banana Chips in standardized packaging. This is how our journey began.
Born to be Pioneers
One product started it all for us in 1993. We were the first to introduce traditional Banana Chips in standardized packaging. And it all started with a clear vision: to be the No.1 Banana Chips manufacturer. That was the driving force which made us who we are today. Over 25 years, we have successfully provided the best, consistent products with ultimate taste and freshness.
We introduced new snacks.
After winning people over with our Banana Chips, we introduced our range of Potato Chips and Namkeens.
Chheda Wafers became Chheda Specialties Foods Pvt Ltd.
In the 12 years after starting up, the response from our customers was overwhelming. So, we incorporated our company ‘Chheda Specialties Foods Pvt Ltd. With it, we introduced a wide selection of high quality packaged premium Namkeens and snacks made using latest techniques and machines under the brand name ‘Chheda’s.
India was hungry for more.
That year, we expanded to meet the growing demand for Chheda products. Today our factory at Manor, Maharashtra spans a sprawling 6 acres, manufacturing quality Namkeens and snacks thanks to a full-blown Quality Control Unit, Warehousing Unit, and Manufacturing Unit.
Chheda’s took its 1st trip abroad.
And ever since then, we did not look back. Today we ship more than 50 products to the USA, The UK, Australia, UAE, Israel, and Sri Lanka.
Present Day
Today, we process 40 tonnes of Bananas on a daily which shows just how much our Banana Chips are still loved. But our hero snacks also include Potato Chips, Ethnic Snacks, Namkeens, and Pop-up snacks. And by 2025, we will have diversified our product range to cater to all of India and be present across the world.

Our founders lead this young, talented, workforce in both a personal and professional manner to make them responsible and self reliant.
Our years of experience of producing market-leading, quality ready-to-eat snack products, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and highly skilled workforce make us stand out from the rest of the competition. Chheda Specialties Foods Private Limited (CSFPL) has set up a manufacturing plant for Snacks and Namkeen at WADA, PALGHAR District (Maharashtra), with a capacity of 1250 MT/month. Our advanced facility includes Puff Panel infrastructure for the processing and packaging area and Yamato packing machines with a production capacity of 1250 MT/month (Potato chips/ Extruded fried and baked/ Namkeen).
The CSFPL Snack Foods Division is certified with FSSC 22000. The setup is equipped with an advanced laboratory. At CSFPL, we strictly abide by hygiene norms. The factory area is spread across 100,000 sq.ft. with a 24×7 availability of water and electricity. The quality lab is well equipped with all the latest equipment for analysis and testing of the products. We do have a separate sensory room for quality parameters testing too.

Situated at Manor in Mumbai, Maharashtra, our facility spans 6 whole acres. Elaborately designed, our units house the most advanced machinery. Our Quality Control Unit, Warehousing Unit, and Manufacturing Unit make up our facilities.
A sustainable manufacturing process.
All our machinery is equipped and upgraded to reduce as much heat and carbon footprint on the environment as possible. To do so, we practice water harvesting and water recycling along with partial green energy generation activities. With an objective to encourage a greener India, 40% of our total area is dedicated to organic farming to benefit local farmers.
A state-of-the-art manufacturing unit
Our manufacturing facility runs on ultra-modern machinery such as: Continuous and batch fryers, Thermic fluid boiler, American extrusion line for extruded snack foods, Fruit & vegetable preparation line, Metal detectors, Yamato Packaging machines & Wright Distribution line
Potatoes, bananas, edible oil, cereals, pulses, spices & condiments/ seasonings are used in the manufacturing process. The whole operation is carried out in installed capacity of 250 mts per month which helps us to meet the bulk requirements of our clients.
We started off in Mumbai in the year 1993 with premium quality Banana Chips. Fast forward to 2011, we took our first trip abroad and ever since then we never looked back. Today, we export over 50 products to the USA, UK, Australia, UAE, Israel, Sri Lanka and many other countries.
